Accessibility

We have designed our website to be simple and straightforward so that it is easier for everyone to use. We follow, wherever possible, the principles laid down by the World Wide Web Consortium and constantly update our site to ensure standards are kept high.

We deliver the following accessible features on our site:

  • The site is designed to be viewable without horizontal scrolling on an 800 x 600 screen
  • We do not use Flash or Frames on our main site, as these can cause problems for screen readers
  • All our images have descriptive ALT text or long descriptions
  • We use the Trebuchet font for our body text, which is easy to read
  • Our navigation is consistent accross all pages, so you will not need to hunt around for the links you need
  • We have a Quick Links dropdown on every page and a Site Map to help you find what you are looking for
  • Our text is scaleable, so you can change your browser settings for larger text if needed

Changing your settings

If you have difficulty reading our site, you can alter your browser settings to:

  • Change the size of the text
  • Change the colour of the text
  • Change the colour of the background
  • Switch graphics off

Each browser is different, so the best way of finding out how to do this is to consult the Help files on your browser toolbar, or visit the manufacturers website (such as Microsoft).
